Days of the week in Hindi
The seven days — दिन (दिन, din) — with Devanagari spelling, pronunciation, and the planet or deity that gives each its name.
If you want to make a plan, book a train, or ask when a shop reopens, the days of the week are unavoidable. In Hindi every weekday name is built the same way: a celestial body or deity followed by वार (vaar), an old word meaning “day” or “turn”. So once you know the seven roots, the names almost assemble themselves — and you'll spot the same planetary logic that sits behind the English Saturday (Saturn) and Sunday (Sun).
The week traditionally opens on सोमवार (Monday) and closes on रविवार (Sunday), which is the public holiday across India. Beyond the seven names, a learner gets enormous mileage from three little relative words — आज (today), कल (tomorrow or yesterday) and परसों (the day after or before) — and from the word for the week itself, सप्ताह.

Usage notes & common mistakes
Saying “on Monday”. Hindi adds the postposition को (ko): “on Monday” is सोमवार को (somvaar ko). You don't need a separate word for “on”.
The shorter spellings. You will often see रविवार written or said as इतवार (itvaar, Sunday) and Thursday as बृहस्पतिवार (brihaspativaar) in formal almanacs. Both forms are correct; the planet-root versions in the first table are the everyday standard.
Don't translate “week” as the day list. The week is सप्ताह or casually हफ़्ता. “Next week” is अगले हफ़्ते (agle hafte) and “last week” is पिछले हफ़्ते (pichhle hafte).
The most common beginner trap is panicking over कल. Listen for the verb ending — past or future — and the meaning falls into place. Until it's automatic, you can always disambiguate by naming the day: कल, यानी मंगलवार (“kal, that is, Tuesday”).
